This information is to help you enjoy your hair extensions and achieve a long life out of them, please follow them meticulously. If these directions are not followed we cannot warrant your hair extensions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Your jadore extensions are only warranted if the Jadore hair care range is used. Please ask your stylist for their recommendations for your hair.

– Upon waking, brush hair and freshen up with GHD or Cloud 9 if necessary (heat styling is not bad for hair extensions, it will improve the appearance of the hair and make it silkier, however it is highly recommended to use a good quality hair straightener such as GHD or Cloud 9 (our favourite and we sell them!) and a heat protectant spray.
– Before bed brush hair with boar bristle brush then apply 2-3 pumps of jadore Argan Oil into mid lengths-ends of hair. Do this every evening. Throughout the day the hair extensions are exposed to heat, wind, sun and they receive no natural nutrients from our scalp like our own hair does so it is very important to rehydrate and replenish them with treatment oil.
– Put hair in low loose plait for sleeping
USE ONLY JADORE HAIR CARE & TREATMENT RECOMMENDED BY EMILLY HADRILL HAIR SALON
– Brush hair with boar bristle brush prior to entering the shower
– Rinse hair in warm water (avoid very hot water on hair due to damage)
– Apply a small amount of jadore shampoo (about the size of a 20-50 cent piece), rub through hands then apply to the scalp only, lather and massage scalp (do not apply shampoo to hair mids-ends, it does not need it)
– Rinse and shampoo will run through your ends to remove any product build up
– Repeat shampoo (this is important to properly clean the scalp) and rinse
– Apply a 20-50 cent piece size amount of jadore conditioner to mid lengths and ends of hair (do not apply conditioner to scalp) and leave for 5 minutes
*Always aim to apply a intense hair treatment mask once per week minimum
– Rinse hair in warm water and blast with cooler water before exiting shower to close cuticle of hair. Rinsing with cold water ensures your hair retains the moisture applied, smooths hair and leaves it less prone to frizz.
– Twist hair so it is not dripping wet then exit shower and gently use a soft towel (or cotton t-shirt is best) to remove the excess water. Blot hair do not rub vigorously. Keep hair in downright direction.
– Apply 2-5 pumps of jadore Argan Oil to mid lengths-ends
– Apply a heat protectant spray and blow-dry hair on medium heat
– If combing/brushing concentrate on mid lengths to ends only
– Finish off with heat styling to make hair silky and less prone to tangling.
Important
– Never use products containing protein, keratin, sulphates and high alcohol contents. These products will destroy your extensions making them knotty and unmanageable. This can occur after only one use and is irreversible. These products are always found in low quality products as well as hair reconstruct products (even high quality salon quality brands). Proteins can be hidden in products so it is important to use the jadore hair care range as this is designed for the hair extensions. It contains no nasties therefore is great for your natural hair as well.
– Wash hair 1-2 times per week only
– Do not use toning/purple shampoos more than once per fortnight.
– Heat styling is not bad for hair extensions, it will improve the appearance of the hair and make it silkier, however it is highly recommended to use a good quality hair straightener such as GHD or Cloud 9 (again, our favourite and we sell them!) and a heat protectant spray. If you do not heat style, there is a risk of hair tangling.
– The hair extensions that are being applied are dead hair, they will not receive any nutrients from our scalp like our own hair does, therefore it is extremely important to use only the recommended hair care products as well as apply jadore hair oil each evening to replenish and hydrate it following exposure to heat, wind, water etc.
– If any hair extensions fall out, please hold onto them and bring them back in at maintenance or contact us for an appointment for re-application. This is very normal particularly at the beginning as your natural hair gets used to having extensions.
– Do not apply products/serums close to the bonds of hair extensions
– Brush hair/detangle hair before swimming
– Wear hair in low loose plait, never in a top knot/bun when hair is wet
– After swimming rinse hair in fresh water
– After swimming apply a treatment when washing hair that evening
– Avoid combing/brushing hair when wet or damp, human hair shrinks when wet leaving more room in the cylinder, therefore more risk of extensions pulling out. Blow dry and then comb/brush gently.
– Do not wash hair for 48-72 hours following application
– Hair must be freshly washed with cleansing shampoo prior to application
– Only use jadore hair care range. Tape extensions are very prone to slippage if incorrect products are used.
– Wear hair in low ponytails for first week
– Do not pick at edges of tape extensions
– If tape extensions peel apart, avoid trying to remove them yourself
– Return for maintenance within 5 weeks time.
There are various quality levels of hair available in hair extensions. Once applied, it is up to you to uphold its quality through good product use (jadore hair care range) and proper handling. If you feel there is a problem with your hair extensions that is beyond your control, please contact us immediately (hair cannot be returned following 1 month of wear).
The extensions need to be pushed up regularly. Skin weft and micro bead weft are required maintenance every 4-5 weeks and micro bead maintenance is every 4-6 weeks. Leaving them longer than this can cause damage to the natural hair, as the heavy extension will be pulling down on the hair. The natural hair can also matt and get tangled between the scalp and the attachment point if left longer than 2 months. If you want your natural hair to grow whilst having extensions, do NOT leave them for longer than 2 months without maintenance.
Run fingers through the scalp daily after around 4 weeks of wear to ensure hair is not matting.
For the first week following application wear hair in low pony tails and styles only or leave hair out.
When using blow dryers or other styling appliances, do not apply heat directly to the attachments. Avoid using blow dryers on their hottest setting.
An extension brush is highly recommended. These are available from Emilly Hadrill Hair Extensions. Remember to always treat your extensions with care, as over aggressive brushing can cause damage and extreme pulling of extensions may result in your own hair loss.
We do our best to achieve a perfect match but hair Extensions may need to be coloured following application. Do not colour your extensions at home. Never bleach hair extensions. If hair is coloured outside of our salons we cannot warrant the extensions.
The hair extensions may feel tight for the first few days after initial application. Some clients feel discomfort for up to a week, however this is extremely rare. If extensions are causing discomfort to the point where the client would like them removed, they can be removed for half price within the first fortnight of application. Extensions are applied with the understanding that not everyone’s hair is suitable for hair extensions, and that Emilly Hadrill Hair Extensions are not responsible for any scalp issues, hair loss or the natural hair not agreeing with hair extensions. It is recommended that if you are unsure you request a test strand first.
If you love your new extensions we’d love you to let us know and to spread the word to your friends! If you are not happy, please let us know and we will do all we can to fix the issue.
Please note: Extension maintenance is required every 4-6 weeks and additional charges will apply if maintenance is being done after 7 weeks from application
